Former British prime minister Boris Johnson was attacked by an ostrich while driving through a safari park in Texas with his family.

A video released by his wife, Carrie Johnson, on instagram shows an ostrich slowly peering its head through the open window, and then nipping Johnson who shouts and drives off.

The viral moment has been viewed hundreds of thousands of times, and has been picked up by numerous British media outlets.

Safaris are popular zoo-like experiences, that let visitors slowly drive their car through the park to observe, and sometimes interact, with free roaming animals.
