Britain’s populist Reform UK party has unveiled plans to offer wealthy, often foreign newcomers a “Britannia Card” to gain exemption from tax on international wealth, income or gains for 10 years for a one-off, £250,000 ($336,000) payment. Strike exchange continues as nuclear fears mount

Israel has hit Iranian government targets in Tehran in a series of strikes that follow a salvo of missiles and drones fired by Iran at Israel in the wake of the Trump administration’s massive strikes on Iranian nuclear sites the day before. The Israeli military also confirmed it struck roads around Iran’s Fordo enrichment facility to obstruct access to the site. The underground site was one of those hit in Sunday’s attack by the United States on three nuclear facilities. The Israeli military did not elaborate.

Six killed as boat capsizes during thurderstorm

Six people have been confirmed dead and two others are missing after a boat capsized on Lake Tahoe in California during a powerful weekend thunderstorm that whipped up high waves, officials say. The US Coast Guard and the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office responded Saturday afternoon to DL Bliss State Park following reports of 10 people in the water, officials said. Two people were rescued and taken to a hospital.

‘Heroic’ church staff helped avert mass shooting

A man who opened fire outside a Michigan church filled with worshippers over the weekend was struck by a vehicle and then fatally shot by security staff who averted a potential mass shooting, police say. Churchgoers attending a morning service at CrossPointe Community Church in Wayne spotted the gunman driving recklessly and then saw him exit his car wearing a tactical vest and carrying a rifle and a handgun, police Chief Ryan Strong said at an evening news conference.

At least ten killed in heavy strikes

Russian drones and missiles have killed at least 10 civilians in Ukraine in overnight attacks, local officials say, with seven deaths reported in the capital, Kyiv, where emergency crews raced to find people believed trapped under the rubble of a partially collapsed apartment building. Russia fired 352 drones and decoys overnight, as well as 11 ballistic missiles and five cruise missiles, Ukraine’s air force said. Air defences intercepted or jammed 339 drones and 15 missiles before they could reach their targets, a statement said.
